The electric snow thrower has a lot of advantages. For one, compared to snow throwers that use gasoline, electric snow throwers can be much lighter, at only a maximum weight of around 25 lbs. On the other hand, with gas-powered snow throwers, total weight (including that of the gas inside) can reach up to 50 lbs. Or so. Electric snow throwers are also not as difficult to operate, and they are much more affordable. Some gas snow throwers can cost as much as over $1,000, while electric snow throwers are available online for only around $300. The Greenworks 26032 20-inch 12 amp electric snow thrower (which is environment-friendly) is available for under $200 on Amazon. Electric snow throwers also do not need a lot of maintenance, compromised to gas snow throwers, which need to be checked for any clogs with regards to the gas and oil inside them, about once a year or so.
